The Mighty Powers of Lemongrass

When you think about stress relief, what natural remedy usually comes to mind? Lavender, right? Well, it is true that lavender is a super botanical for relieving tension,  lemongrass has many of the same benefits! It is often used as a sedative, and antidepressant, antiseptic and an astringent. It has also been known to help ease achy muscles and improve circulation.

Lemongrass is used in cooking, tea, countless cosmetics, candles and some people even apply it to help prevent bug bites!

We use it in our Lemongrass Salt Body Scrub, which has been a happy part of our line since we started our company.

Lalka Gets a Makeover

I've decided to update our Lalka soap, which has, since I opened our doors, been scented in wisteria and layered in pink and purple. Since wisteria was a favorite botanical of Grandma Stella, I decided to use this fragrance in the creation of her signature soap. But, you see, Grandma Stella was quite a green thumb, she had a deep appreciation for all sorts of blooms and she was very gifted in nurturing them. So, I decided to give Lalka a new life with a lilac fragrance and a pretty light purple and white swirled design. I think she would approve.

More Cold Process Soap

I am having such fun converting the Stella Marie line into cold process! Check out the photos below of more recent work.

New Soap Craft, Dinosoap Jr., De La Soap and Rockaway Beach. I used the leftover soap in Celtic Dragon and Gargoyle cavity molds.

Cold Process

I am in the throes of making cold process soap and I am having a ball! As I discussed last year, I am changing my process so that I can make more soap in less time. While this is happening, however, I am still making hot process soap so that I may fill orders while the first batches of CP cure. I will not be able to sell them for 4 weeks. Here are some pictures of the CP soap I have made so far.
The Straight Soap (which I think will be re-named, Plain Jane), Grapefruit Moon and The Bad Seed (now with a hint of red shimmer on top). The hearts were made in a cavity mold with the leftover soap.Dude, Where's My Soap?, Tempest and Cucumber Slumber.
