Hester Street Fair

Hester Street Fair | May 14, 2011

We had a great time on Saturday in New York City! We will be back again this Saturday to sell more soapy treats, so if you live in the NYC area, please stop by the Hester Street Fair and say hello! We can totally vouch for all of the wonderful food and drink at this market, too!

I love your setup and the jazzy red colour. Your apron is cute too. I was in New York last April, I'll have to remember this fair next time I go.

Hi Kim,

What a very friendly and inviting display setting at the Hester Street Fair on May 14. What were you biggest success in terms of what sold best at that show? Was it a strong turnout?

Our Joyful Soaps business has been going for about eight months and we are considering whether to do one or two Farmer's Markets in the Pacific Northwest. What is your opinion about the success that can be had at a Farmer's Market?

Thank you!

Thanks, Splurge Sisters and Joyful Soaps! To answer you question about the Farmer's Markets - I have found that they are not the best venues for me. I think they are fantastic places and I am extremely supportive of buying local, but I am not going to do them steadily this year because the revenue just isn't there. I will, however, make guest appearances at some of the ones I have done in the past. I do think they are lovely markets, but I am not needed on a weekly basis there. I do much better in indie artisan markets, larger in scale and in urban locations.
