I really need to get a professional soap cutter. I've been using my old faithful hand cutter (purchased at an antique store in Northampton, MA) and I think life would be much improved with a nifty new model. Particularly where my Joan Jett soap is concerned. (Sorry, old faithful - I do adore you, but your must be retired)
I want something like this for $200 +,
but I will probably have to settle for something like this for $25:

They both look like they'd work well. Is the one at the top a 'Tank' cutter? I keep hearing about them, but I've never seen one.
I understand the dilemma. I don't feel like soaps have to be perfectly cut, but I like the uniform thickness throughout.
Hi Elizabeth -
It's Willow Way's Professional Manual Soap Cutter. You can see more information about it here Code, including a video with a demo.
Hello Joanna -
Yes, I agree. Imperfections let the world know that it's a handmade item. But I'd like to get closer to exact weight in each bar.
yeah, that makes sense. HAdn't thought about that 'cause I don't sell mine.... you are so smart
I have the soap cutter on the bottom. It is pretty reliable and does the job you need.
I think I might get that one, too. Thanks for the tip, DC :)
